Can be very handy:

Swiffy converts Flash SWF files to HTML5,

allowing you to reuse Flash content on devices without a Flash player (such as iPhones and iPads).

Swiffy currently supports a subset of SWF 8 and ActionScript 2.0, and the output works in all Webkit browsers such as Chrome and Mobile Safari. If possible, exporting your Flash animation as a SWF 5 file might give better results.

Current exhibition:
The Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany: 18.06.2011–08.01.2012 CAR CULTURE. Media of Mobility with Olafur Eliasson, Gabriel Orozco, Damián Ortega, Tobias Rehberger, Leo Schatzl, Wolf Vostell, Andy Warhol, Erwin Wurm and more.

The Center for Art and Media (Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie) in Karlsruhe, Germany is an interdisciplinary art museum and is considered to be the biggest institution for new media art worldwide.

An excerpt from exhibition catalogue:
„Be Part Of, an installation on display at the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe has been conceived as an experiment, providing a framework for global communication as well as being instrumental at visualizing it.
The exhibit presents a virtual drawing, coming into being before your eyes by means of a multitude of touchscreen applications deployed worldwide. All participants are collaborating on the same canvas and have the choice of three perspectives: „draw“ displays the canvas itself, „watch“ offers a view of the showroom and visitors present and finally „visit“ shows the location of the exhibition on a map.
The visitors at the showroom are tracked with cameras – their number has a direct effect on the drawing: line colors grow more vibrant with an increasing number of spectators. As new participants are connecting, more space is added to the canvas and the view at the exhibition progresses to reveal the new area.
The theoretically endless drawing documents the chronology of interaction and communication between artists from around the world and audience at the showroom.“

This film explores playful uses for the increasingly ubiquitous ‘glowing rectangles’ that inhabit the world.

We use photographic and animation techniques that were developed to draw moving 3-dimensional typography and objects with an iPad. In dark environments, we play movies on the surface of the iPad that extrude 3-d light forms as they move through the exposure. Multiple exposures with slightly different movies make up the stop-frame animation.

Technisch vrij simpel te realiseren en met een grote marketing impact kunt u uw museum zichtbaar maken voor de wereld. Koppel een strategisch opgestelde webcam via een URL aan een iPad of smartphone app en bewonder de kijkcijfers. (voor technische vragen kunt u o.a. bij Infofilm terecht).

Op de site van Blijdorp: “Bezitters van een iPad kunnen sinds gisteren het baby-olifantje in Blijdorp nu ook volgen via de nieuwe Blijdorp-applicatie ‘Blijdorp Streams’. Dit is een wereldprimeur: voor zover bekend is Diergaarde Blijdorp de eerste dierentuin ter wereld met een iPad-applicatie…

Met 54.000 vertoningen sinds de geboorte van het olifantje op 20 juli jongstleden, zijn de webcams in en rond dikhuidenverblijf Taman Indah een grote hit op internet. Nu de webcam-widget (mini-website) van de Diergaarde ook mobiel te bekijken is, is de Blijdorp-slogan ‘Slurfen op het Net’ helemaal toepasselijk geworden. Zo kun je dus altijd en overal de belevenissen volgen van het baby-olifantje met haar familie en het laatste nieuws lezen uit Blijdorp.

Met deze gratis webcam-applicatie heeft Diergaarde Blijdorp een nieuw kanaal waarmee nog meer mensen kennis kunnen maken met de olifantenfamilie. Binnen een week wordt ook een versie voor de populaire iPhone verwacht.”

Even though the Apple iPad won’t be available for another 60 or 90 days (depending on the model), Apple already has its official iPad website up and running. In addition to showing off some of the applications, features and design and technical specifications, the website also features an eight-minute video with Apple’s design and development team discussing the device and showing it off.
