Report: Mediamatic conference Kom je ook 3 ‘the public as programmer’

The ‘public as programmer’ was the focus of the third edition of Kom je Ook? (Are You Coming Too?), that took place on the 26th of November 2009. We offered an energising programme with foreign speakers, Dutch case studies and do it yourself. The location was the Bernard Haitinkzaal in the new Conservatory of Amsterdam. With Jim Richardson, Joost Heijthuijsen, Fiona Romeo, Floor Ziegler, Emina Sendijarevic and the DOEN Pitches.
After a word of welcome by chairman of the day Riemer Knoop, the first keynote speaker takes the stage. Fiona Romeo works as head of digital media for the Maritime Museum and Royal Observatory in London. In her talk Fiona shows us examples of how cultural organisations can involve their audience as programmers.
